We encourage students to remain in contact with their teachers and thank you for partnering with us as we shift to online learning.
During these uncertain times, we will continue to put our students, faculty/staff and community first. Please continue to check your email and our website as we continue to communicate regularly on the changes this pandemic brings.
Our prayers go out to all our families that you remain healthy, safe, and in the presence of the Lord’s arms during this time.

Update
March 15, 2020
Dear Notre Dame Community,
Thank you for your continued support and communication while we transition into our Distant Learning Platform starting Monday, March 16th at 8am.
Campus:
Our first priority during this transition is to ensure the safety of our students, staff and community. As instruction continues, in the meantime, all sports, practices and events have been suspended or postponed until further notice. We have an expected date of return to campus on Monday, April 6th and when we return back to campus students will pick up with all their co-curricular activities.
Our faculty and staff will continue to report daily as we work to enhance the new Distant Learning protocol. Only necessary personnel will be allowed on campus and all visitors will be restricted to the front office but encouraged to halt any interaction until April 6th. Please communicate via telephone or email.
Grades:
Monday, March 16th is the start of our 4th quarter. Students’ current grades posted in Schoology reflect the final grade for the 3rd quarter and carry over as we finish this semester. Academic Probation will still be in effect for students who are not eligible and will not be able to participate in extracurricular activities once we return to regular campus instruction. The student services office will communicate further in regards to the start of 4th quarter.
Distant Learning:
As a reminder, students are expected to start their first period class on Monday, March 16th at 8am by logging into their Schoology course. We will allow a 30 minute delay to the start of our regular school day for our faculty and staff morning meeting and preparation before we start our distant learning protocol. This alternate schedule will ONLY affect the first period and students will follow the rest of their school day as usual.
Students follow their daily class schedule and report to Schoology courses each period. Teachers will take daily attendance in the first 10 minutes of the start of each period via a discussion or live conference. It is the responsibility of the student to log into the course daily and follow the teachers instruction to receive daily attendance and not miss any coursework or homework.
We will follow the planned green and gold schedule posted on our calendar. Breaks, lunches, and class periods will remain the same as if we were to report to campus to maintain routine. During the mentor block periods will be an opportunity to have conferences with instructors as needed.
Parents and Community:
Each day we will provide students with daily announcements via video recordings as we build our broadcasting studio on campus. We will be in constant communication with you on updates or announcements as information is constantly changing. Please check your emails and website as this will be our primary source of communication.
This unexpected time in our Nation's history allows for us to come together and be grateful for our family and friends. The Notre Dame community is an extension of all of our families and we will continue to create an environment of faith, academics and activities.
Thank you for being a part of our family, we can’t wait to welcome you back.
Many Blessings,
RaeAnna Ashton

Update | March 12th
Dear Notre Dame Community,
We want to provide you with further information regarding the ever-growing concern over the Coronavirus (COVID-19). We continue to take direction from the Diocese regarding school precautions and implementations and remain proactive in the planning process over the complex issue of preparing for a larger outbreak. We will continue to provide you with updates and plans as necessary and ask you to review the following.
Campus Instruction
Currently, there are no recommendations from the Diocese or local health organizations to close our campus. In the event that it is recommended or required that we temporarily close the school, we are dedicated to ensuring that class instruction continues. We are fortunate enough that all students have access to their iPad’s and our web-based learning management system Schoology, which provides the opportunity for online instruction in a worst-case scenario. Although web-based learning has its challenges, we will work alongside our faculty to prepare both them and our students for online instruction. Again, we do not believe will have to close school, but remain proactive and dedicated to ensuring that instruction continues.
School Travel
We are closely monitoring off-campus events such as scheduled field trips and sporting events. For students scheduled to travel abroad during our upcoming breaks, families should remain in contact with their event chaperone or EF Tours. For upcoming events, we will adhere to Diocesan instruction on scheduling and will communicate any changes as necessary.
Prevention
Please note that we have regular cleaning with our nightly janitorial service and completed a deep cleaning of our campus over winter break. In addition to our hand washing stations throughout campus, we will provide our staff with hand sanitizers, tissues, wipes, etc. for their classroom as they are available and will continue to maintain our facilities for a healthy environment. Additionally, students, staff, and campus visitors should adhere to the following CDC-recommendations:
-
Do not attend school if sick, and remain at home until symptoms have subsided for at least 24 hours.
-
Avoid close contact with those who are sick.
-
Wash hands frequently with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.
-
Use hand sanitizers that contain at least 60% alcohol.
-
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
-
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth unless hands are clean or sanitized.
-
Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue.
For additional information on the virus and prevention instructions, please refer to the CDC website.
We will continue to communicate updates with the community as the need arises and ask that you please keep the sick, our medical professionals, governing agencies, and all those affected by this virus in your prayers.
Sincerely,
RaeAnna Ashton

School Board Update
Dear Notre Dame Community,
The School Board members of Notre Dame High School conducted an emergency board meeting via the Zoom virtual platform to discuss the school’s response to the COVID19 situation. Dear Notre Dame Community,
Please see the message below on the latest update from the Office of Catholic Schools in regards to the Coronavirus:
The Office of Catholic Schools is a member of the Diocese’s Ad Hoc COVID 19 Response Committee. This committee is in constant communication with the CDC, public health departments for both San Bernardino and Riverside counties, Dignity Health, and other diocesan entities. As of today, the schools in the Diocese of San Bernardino will continue to operate a normal school schedule. Activities and field trips scheduled will continue. In the event, that an individual school site experiences exposure to COVID 19, the Office of Catholic schools will consult with the Ad Hoc COVID 19 Response Committee with regard to any further restrictions that might be needed. As information is updated, every effort to protect students from harm will be considered. With scheduled school events, parents may exercise their right as primary educators and decide to keep their child home or elect not to have their child participate. With regard to absences, students will not be penalized for parents who choose to have their students remain at home.
As we receive additional information you will be updated.
Thank you,
RaeAnna Ashton
