Dear Notre Dame Community,

This month may be the shortest of the year, but it will be full of Love! Love for our families, community, and what it means to be a TITAN! We have great activities, highlights, and events planned this month, and we pray you get involved. Stay connected during this time because “it is well with my soul.” -Psalm 118:24

Explore ND

We traditionally start connecting with our 8th-grade partner school students this time of the year through ASB Leadership camp, Peer Ministry retreats, and Student Ambassador classroom visits and shadow days. As we adapt to the times, our leadership groups have created virtual Pop-Ins to connect with our incoming freshmen students! Follow us on social media @ndhsriverside and share upcoming informational sessions with any incoming families interested in learning more about ND!

Registration

Registration is now open for the 2021-2022 school year! While some families are still awaiting more information about our return to campus, we remain dedicated to providing our students with the best instruction possible, both online and in-person. We will continue updating our campus reopening plan via our website, and invite Families to submit additional questions to our FAQ page here

Reopening Update

Governor Gavin Newsom announced Monday, January 25th, that California had lifted regional stay-at-home orders across the state in response to improving coronavirus conditions. Only schools in counties with fewer than 25 positive coronavirus cases per 100,000 population can participate. As of January 1st, that means most schools won’t be able to participate, as most counties have infection rates of 25 or more.

Riverside County updated guidelines under Purple Tier :

  • No schools may reopen for grades 7-12.

    • County must be in red tier for 5 consecutive days before reopening.

    • CR of 7/100,000

  • Can reopen K-6 if the county is under a CR of 25/100,000

    • Riverside County: 110/100,000 (1/27/2021)

We continue to work with the Office of Catholic Schools, Emergency Operations Collaborative, and the County of Riverside Health Department to prepare for our school's reopening. We are moving in the right direction and pray for continued safety and wellness for all. We will continue to provide updates as we move forward and thank our Notre Dame community for your ongoing support.

Student Services

Our academic counselors have settled in nicely and are looking forward to meeting all our students! Please look out for the following updates as we start planning for the 2021-2022 academic school year.

  • Learn more about our Counselor Open Office Hours via Zoom

  • Counselors will begin meeting with students at the end of the month to start scheduling courses for the next academic year 2021-2022

  • AP and Honor Course Meetings: Teachers will meet with students that are interested in taking AP or Honor courses next year. This is in anticipation of preparing schedules for the 2021-2022 school year.

Athletics

Fall Sports Update: CIF playoffs and Championships have officially been canceled for our Fall Sports. The Fall Season was set to run from January - April. Cross Country is currently training and preparing for a shortened season. Football, Volleyball, and Water Polo are only allowed to compete if the county reaches the orange tier. We are working with coaches to ensure there is ample time to prepare the athletes for competition if and when that time comes.

Spring Sports Update: Our spring sports, which are set to run from March - June, will slowly start back up according to the colored tier they can compete. Boys and Girls tennis has begun training; Please keep checking the website and Band Apps for individual sports updates.
